Top 5 Laptops with Great Battery Life – Specifications

Battery life is one feature that attracts buyers to a laptop. These 5 laptops stood out as the top performers in the market for 2020. See their features on our homepage.

LG Gram 15

The Good: The LG Gram 15 is amazingly light for a 15.6-inch laptop and has incredible battery life. Thunderbolt 3 and a fingerprint reader built into the power button are nice additions to last year’s model.

The Bad: Despite LG’s durability claims, the laptop does feel flimsy, particularly the lid. Thunderbolt 3 is only available on the priciest model. You’ll likely need to adjust to the keyboard layout.

The Bottom Line: If lightweight, all-day battery life and a large screen size are your top must-haves for your next laptop, the LG Gram 15 is worth the expense.

Asus NovaGo

The Good: Excellent battery life. Fast LTE connectivity.

The Bad: Sluggish computing performance. No USB-C. No keyboard backlighting. “Always On” feature is somewhat confusing. Ships with hobbled Windows 10 S.

Bottom Line: One of the first Windows laptops with a Snapdragon CPU, the Asus NovaGo 2-in-1 delivers long battery life and always-on LTE connectivity but suffers from sluggish software.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon

The Good: Thin, light, and very sturdy. ThinkPad-typical comfortable keyboard. Long battery life, as configured with 1080p screen. Many screen options. Optional Intel vPro. Full-size HDMI output.

The Bad: Small touchpad. Requires (not-included) Ethernet adapter.

Bottom Line: With a sturdy, lightweight carbon-fiber exterior, an excellent keyboard, and plenty of security and manageability features, Lenovo’s ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 7 is the best laptop you can buy for your business.

LG Gram 14 2-in-1

The Good: As you might expect from a display manufacturer, the 14-inch full-HD IPS touchscreen has good color performance, boosting its usefulness for creatives.

The Bad: It’s not the brightest display, which no doubt helps your battery life, but you’ll be fighting reflections indoors and out. Pen input was smooth and responsive, although the tip provides little friction making it feel like writing on glass, not paper. Also, there’s no garage or holder to stash it when not in use.

Bottom Line: Good value for it’s money.

Samsung Notebook 9 Pro

The Good: Bright touch screen. Built-in S Pen storage. IR Camera for Windows Hello. 14 hours of battery life.

The Bad: No 4K screen option. Bulky in tablet mode. No Thunderbolt 3. Smaller SSD than rivals. Slippery keys.

Bottom Line: The Samsung Notebook 9 Pro has a nice price compared with competitors, but a 15-inch 2-in-1 with a multimode hinge isn’t as easy to grasp as smaller alternatives.
